"Blue Bear"

Daniel Peacock’s acrylic paintings are a mix mash of puzzles, muzzles and fuzzy whatnots. Peacock throws in a bit of politics and a bite of nature with blue skies always returning. Somewhere in the story, taboos get a hair cut, pets get to vote and if you are small enough, something wants to eat you. Humans and critters of wild diversity inhabit a richly conceived dreamscape as if Fellini shared a peace pipe with Dr. Seuss.

Peacock, whose favorite color is periwinkle, “grew up” in the OC catching pollywogs that wiggle and watching things that jiggle. Peacock started painting after years of avoiding the subject, inspired by some old comic book whose origin escapes him. Currently, Peacock, a graduate of Art Center College of Design, resides amongst the birds and squirrels in South Pasadena, CA creating work for private collections and various businesses.
